Kikuro has very simple concept that all the people can understand so it is suitable for kids, families and of course board game lovers too. It offers "extra fun" when played in 4 players.

2 player mode: for 2 players (you can play single against computer or human)
4 player mode: for 4 players (you can play against computers, against humans, or mix computers and humans)

Normal Mode:
This is played on a 15x15 board. The player with the most pieces on the board at the end of the game wins.
After one player put the piece on the board, the others cant put any pieces on the 8 squares where are surrounded a central zone of the piece. How to protect and extend territory at a time; this is the key element of game.
Many types of maps make you use brainpower to figure out which strategy is better.

Expert Mode:
If more than or equal to 5 pieces are set in line, bonus points are added to your points.
It is different from Normal Mode. It is possible to turn the game around at the end even if the number of your pieces is smaller than the other(s).
How it is that so many pieces could be aligned on the board, that is the key element of game.
* Even if you couldnt put any pieces on the board, it doesnt mean that you would loose the game because of the bonus points.

Star Block Mode:
You can put the special block called Star Block on the map and keep the edge in the game.
To understanding the feature of map and select the location where the Star Block is set in; this is the key element of game.
Moreover, it is important to imagine where the other players would put in their Star Blocks because the scales may turn against you if the other(s) would put the Star Block at the same place as yours, so you should read players mind and go ahead of the competition!
Players can receive the odds according to their ability. It makes the game more fun because we can play in diverse ways.
